I was just about to head to bed when I saw this… Felipe put this together for Flavio on his recent trip to Brazil. Flavio was asked to present to the US Embassy on Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. This video does well to express the feelings of the students in San Clemente but also embodies the feeling throughout Gracie Barra. Great job Purple Fury !

After seeing a facebook post that my friend Mike was going to be promoted, I HAD to run over to GB America to photograph. It is not often that the photographer is photographed, so I thought it would be fun… besides, I had to drop off a camera body and a lens to Canon in Irvine
At the end of class, as is customary, Mike was presented his new rank to the applause of his classmates and training partners. I know he was excited an I could see that he was happy. Here are some shots of him training before and after his promotion. For some of you that do not know, Mike is an AWESOME photographer and guy. He is someone that I look up to in the business world of photography. You can see his work and learn more about him here (http://mikecolon.com/)

I received a couple of the Budo Videos Catalogs (www.budovideos.com) last night. Joe, the editor asked for permission to use a couple photos of Marcio Feitosa for an upcoming article. I was pleased to see 3 photos in there and the article was a good one. I was an interview of Marcio where the main focus was on the future of Grace Barra. You should check it out, subscribe to the catalog, there is a lot more in there than gear, the articles are good and getting better. The one thing that I enjoy is at the end of the catalog, they ask a random question to many big named BJJ folks. This one asked people their favorite movie, it was cool to see what Kyra Gracie and Eddie Bravo say is theirs… check it out !
My friend Regis Chen (here is his website) who also trains BJJ was there at the last tournament taking photos. Here are some photos he caught of me and Jordan. Mow I know the copyright says peshphoto, but they are his, I just wanted to protect them for him on the web.
Thanks Regis !
Here is Jordan fighting
Last week was the First Annual Gracie Barra So Cal Classic. It took place at Irvine Valley College. This is a unique tournament in that only Gracie Barra students are invited to compete. We had a great time. Jordan took 3rd, I took 2nd and a ton of the competitors from Gracie Barra San Clemente brought home medals. Check back here often because I am trying to get all of our matches uploaded for you to see.

Wow… WOW !… I was so suprised to see this show up in the mail yesterday. It really made me smile and honestly, it made my day. I have a photo that I shot of a couple people competing in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu from a recent tournament that was selected for the cover (THE COVER) of the Gracie Mag. Here are some photos along with a few others that made it to the inside as well.
Another day on the mats ! This morning I spent an hour training with my professor. I worked on escaping from the side control. I am still sore today but I expected that! I am not sure how regularly I will be able to training with him but I look forward to it. I already feel as though I have improved a little.
